We will hold your reservation without deposit for 10 business days.
Deposit, Payment & Refund Policy
Deposits:
Reservations will become firm upon receipt of a $500 deposit ($1,000 for South Africa). with a personal check, money order or credit card.
Payment:
Final payment is due 90 days prior to departure date by personal check or money order only.

Refunds:
In the event that we cancel a trip, you will receive a full refund of all deposits and payments.
We do not give refunds of deposits or final payments for tours that commence as scheduled, except as follows below.
Cancellation Credit:
In the event you must cancel the trip, the cancellation will become effective upon receipt of written cancellation and the refund will be returned according to the following schedule prior to departure date:
- Up to 91 days, $300 per person cancellation fee
- 90 to 60 days, $750 per person cancellation fee
- 59 to 30 days, 50% cancellation fee
- inside of 30 days, no refund
South Africa:
- 60 to 89 days, full refund less $1,000
- 60 days or less, no refund
We strongly encourage trip insurance to cover any unforeseen events that would force you to cancel your trip.
Tour Changes/Cancellation Policy:
A Cook’s Tour makes every effort to operate each tour as planned. We reserve the right to make changes to the itinerary, if necessary. If circumstances force A Cook’s Tour to change an advertised venue, we will replace it with one of equal or better quality.
We reserve the right to cancel a tour if the number of reservations is not large enough to operate without a loss. In the event that we cancel a tour, your payment will be refunded fully and we will give you a credit of $300 for any future tour within the next two years.
*We have based our 2008 tour rates with the Euro costing $1.40 in U.S. currency. Our South Africa prices are based on the U.S. dollar having a value of 1 to 6.3 ZAR (South African Rand). If the currency value changes more than 5% in either direction, a currency adjustment will be made 90 days prior to departure. In the event the currency needs to be adjusted, we will give you written notice of the difference and adjust the “land portion” of the tour. Should the U.S. dollar weaken, you will be responsible for the adjustment; conversely if the U.S. dollar strengthens, we will refund the adjusted value. Accounts fully paid within 30 days of reservation will not be subject to currency fluctuations
