Day One:

Arrival and transfer to Constantia Uitsig Country Hotel

 

Cable car ride to top of Table Mountain for spectacular view of cape peninsula

Day Two:

Breakfast

 

Walking tour of Cape Town, museum and market

 

Lunch at waterfront shopping mall

 

Ferry to Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned

 

Dinner at Bakhara (landmark Indian cuisine)

Day Three:

Breakfast

 

Visit magnificent Kirstenbosch Garden

 

Lunch at the home of Margo Ratcliffe for true South African hospitality

 

Afternoon at leisure

 

Dinner at the eclectic Africa Café

Day Four:

Breakfast

 

Guided tour of the cape, beaches, penguin colony

 

Picnic lunch

 

Shopping in Constantia

 

Wine tasting, cellar tour and dinner at Buitenverwachting

Day Five:

Breakfast

 

Cooking with Cass Abrahams, the Queen of Cape Malay Cuisine!

 

Lunch as prepared in lesson

 

Depart for overnight stay at historic Cape Dutch homestead

 

Special dinner prepared by host Julian Melck

Day Six:

Breakfast

 

Tour olive oil producer en route to quaint French Huguenot village of Franscheloek

 

Lunch at Hildebrand Olive Farm

 

Check in at the small hotel Le Quartier Francais

 

Visit local vintner for wine tasting

 

Dinner at Le Quartier Francais by 2002 Chef-of-the-year Margot Janse

Day Seven:

Breakfast

 

Bread-making course at Moreson Wine Estate, wine tasting

 

Afternoon free to explore Franschhoek

 

Dinner on your own

Day Eight:

Breakfast

 

Visit wine producer Warwick, tasting and tour

 

Cooking class at the Institute of Culinary Arts

 

Return to Franschloek with stop at historic Boschendal for wine tasting and tour.

 

Private dinner at Boschendal

Day Nine:

Early morning departure for Kruger National Park

 

Transfer to luxury safari lodge, Tanda Tula (20,000 acres, hundreds of animal species – rhinos, leopards)

 

Afternoon at the pool

 

Barbecue style dinner

Days 10 –12:

On safari at Tanda Tula!

Day 13:

Breakfast

 

Mid-day departure for Mpumulanga Airport and Johannesburg
